My 12 yr old daughter learned to play these at school. She taught cousins ages 7, 4, and 3 to play Jingle Bells for Christmas. They had lots of fun and we could even tell what they were playing.

Love these for teaching purposes. They work a bit like choir chimes or handbells; every kid gets one and only plays it when their pitch comes round in the song. If you want to get fancy, you can also get the chromatic set that will give you the "black keys" on the piano. Boomwhacker also makes caps to fit over the ends of the tubes that will lower the sound by an octave; I found that the kids like the deeper sound and find it easier to distinguish pitch. You can hit two or more together to make a chord; you can play them with mallets for a different timbre; they're near on impossible to break. Perfect.

A note to other music teachers: the notation software Sibelius has a feature that will color in noteheads in Boomwhacker colors. Very, very handy. And they're getting more popular, so there are lots of materials available for them if you don't want to write your own, some with accompaniment CDs. I recommend getting enough sets so that the kids don't have to take turns and dividing them into groups by pitch; they're braver when they have a buddy.

This silicone O-ring is red in color, round in shape, has a durometer of 7OA, and is designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications.

Silicone is acceptable for temperature applications between -65 degrees F (-54 degrees C) to 450 degrees F (232 degrees C). It has good resistance to ozone, weather, detergent, salt water, engine and transmission oil, non-petroleum brake fluid, hydraulic fluids that resist fire, vegetable and animal oils, and high molecular weight chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons. Silicone is vulnerable to mechanical wear and tear, water and steam over 250 degrees F (121 degrees C), aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene), chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene), acids and bases, and hydrocarbon fuels.

O-rings commonly provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly seen in engines, faucets, flanges, valves, and various cylinders. They are circular in shape, with a round cross section and a hole in the center, similar to a doughnut. O-rings are available in a number of sizes, and can be ordered based on required nominal inside diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), and cross-sectional (CS) diameter.

This silicone O-ring has a shore durometer of 70A. Shore durometer is the hardness of a material, and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value indicates greater resistance to indentation on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 indicating no indentation.

This silicone O-ring meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A, which is the Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings.

Bought these headphones because I was going overseas and needed them for skype. I bought them on March 11, 2011 and they are STILL WORKING GREAT! I've bought many headphones and HIGHLY recommend these. They're worth way more than the 30 bucks i paid for. a crappy product costs a lot in the long term. Only if they had noise cancelling... maybe some day.

After reading a few reviews, I wasn't too sure about how this would turn out. I had already bought it, so I waited till it came, which was hard cause I was excited. It came right when I wanted it to, and I immediately loved it.
Pros:
Mic is really good.
Sound is great.
Comfortable, wore it for 3 hrs b4 any real discomfort.
Easy to set up.

Cons:
Hard to think of any off the top of my head. They itch a bit after an hour or so, but that's minor.

I love this headset. I recommend it to all casual gamers and some hardcore gamers.

Loss presents itself in its many forms throughout this portrait of a family: the Ryries, who live in Nyack, NY, and seemingly live ordinary lives.

When their third child is born anencephalic, his death is a certainty. In fact, he lives for fifty-seven hours.

Then the family shifts into everyday life, with scarcely a blink, and their separate grief unfolds in symptomatic ways that reveal the testing of the bonds that connect them.

The Grief of Others is narrated in alternating perspectives, moving back and forth between the past and present. In the beginning, we see the ten-year-old daughter Biscuit struggling with her own ritualistic way of dealing with what has happened.

Paul, the thirteen-year-old, is silently suffering while being brutally bullied by classmates.

And John and Ricky, the parents, move along parallel pathways, seldom connecting at all, until it is soon apparent that the events of loss were not the trigger for their disintegrating marriage, but the instrument that casts a spotlight upon what is wrong in their relationship. Secrets, betrayals, and lies are all gradually revealed as the reader turns the pages.

A wild card in this tragic family portrait is Jess, John's daughter from a youthful relationship; her unexpected appearance could tip the fragile balance between them all. She is in her early twenties and has only spent time with the Ryries once before, on a vacation to the family cabin when she was in her early teens.

Will Jess's needs somehow breathe life into the disintegrating family? Will her presence somehow bring the family together? Or will her individual set of lies and secrets cast the final stone on the funeral pyre that seemingly defines the family group?

This story was beautifully crafted and the characterizations were rich and multilayered, lending an authenticity to the drama as it played out, showing the reader that families are often comprised of individuals living parallel existences until something or someone helps shift the balance to bring about a kind of catharsis.

I recommend this story for anyone who wants to understand the nature of grief, and its effect on individuals and on the family. Four stars. I deducted a star for one missing ingredient: emotion.

Like many have said, this started out strongly with beautiful writing...and then just kept going, and going, and going, and going...until finally I just didn't even care enough about any of the characters to finish it! The wife's interaction with her husband was totally unrealistic; you wonder why they ever felt they were so in love in the first place!
I have to say that on first introduction to most of the characters, I ended up interested, but that would quickly die in the endless musings of banality that followed. Not worth the time.
